Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. Lehew & CO. / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front with a large, triple-stemmed flowering plant. Reverse decorated with graduated swags flanking two stylized flowers. Impressed with Lehew's earliest and rarest maker's mark below one handle.
