Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "CONNOLLY & PALMER, / NEW BRUNSWICK, / N.J.," circa 1886-1889, large-sized, cylindrical jug, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf, accented with a spotted trail. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Some small spots of old residue to surface, small in-the-firing iron pings, some surface crazing to base on reverse, and minor crazing to shoulder. H 17 1/2".
