Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "VAN SCHOIK & DUNN / Makers, / Middletown Point, N.J.," circa 1855, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed design of a double-stemmed flowering plant. Brushed "3" above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A thin 2 3/4" crack from rim on reverse. A thin 1 3/8" from rim on reverse. A small chip and tiny nick to interior of rim. A small spot of sticker staining to shoulder on front. H 9 3/4".
