Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. FARRAR & CO. / GEDDES, N.Y.," circa 1860, highly-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of three flowers emanating from a series of leaves. Slip-trailed "2" to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Small rim chips. Chipping to interior of rim. Some light staining to reverse. A faint Y-shaped line to underside, connecting to a small faint T-shaped line at base. H 11".
