Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. NORTON / BENNINGTON," VT origin, circa 1828-1833, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a crisply-incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a flowering plant emanating from a grassy ground. Relatively few incised examples of Norton family stoneware are known, this example featuring exceptional color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some staining. H 11".
