Rare Stoneware Presentation Bowl, ,Inscribed "Wm Everson," Stamped "PATENTED / APRIL 27 1875," attributed to Hubbell & Chesebro, Geddes, NY, circa 1875, jiggered bowl with tall rim molding, the rim embellished with four rectangular clay lugs. Albany slip glaze to interior and exterior body. The exterior incised with the name, "Wm. Everson," who appears in the 1880 census as a grocer living in Syracuse. Salt-glazed rim. A closely-related flowerpot, bearing the same patent date was sold in Crocker Farm's March 1, 2014 auction (lot 107). Very nice condition with some shallow chipping to bottom edge and some minor chips to lugs. H 7" ; Diam. (across top) 10 3/4".
