Large-Sized Redware Jug with Dashed Manganese Decoration, New England origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, rounded spout, and thin strap handles, decorated all-over with several columns of horizontal manganese slashes. Surface covered in a heavy lead glaze. A well-potted and unusually large example with striking brushed decoration. Surface abrasions and a minor in-the-firing ping to foot. H 13".
