Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Pheasant-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "WHITE'S UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a pheasant with turned head, perched on a tree stump. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1" in-the-firing chip to side of spout. Two smaller, post-firing chips to spout, as well as two small spout nicks. Some staining to surface. H 14".
