Small Lidded Redware Butter Crock, Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840, cylindrical crock with straight and wavy combed incising, the surface decorated with splotches of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Includes original domed lid with matching glaze. Crock with wear to rim. Lid with two chips to edge and some minor wear to knob. H (including lid) 6 1/2" ; Diam. (across top) 6 3/8".
