Two Stoneware Jars, NJ origin, mid 19th century, both of ovoid form with applied handles, one inscribed "1/2" in slip-trailed cobalt with flourish below; the other inscribed "one" with trapezoidal design below, additional inscribed "1" with looping flourish on reverse. Half-gallon jar with long, curving crack from rim on reverse and glazed-over chipping to one handle. One-gallon jar with a thin crack on underside, extending several inches up front. H (of half-gallon jar) 6 1/4".
