Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "FROM / J.M. CLEEK / SACRAMENTO, KY," attributed to James Miller, Brandenburg, KY, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, featuring the large stenciled advertising, "FROM / J.M. CLEEK / SACRAMENTO, KY" above a series of finely-brushed foliate devices. Excellent condition with a faint Y-shaped surface line across underside, not visible on interior, and a minor stone ping to rim. H 8 3/8".
