Unusual Small-Sized Redware Bowl, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, with rounded sides and tooled shoulder, the exterior decorated with sponged manganese under a clear lead glaze. Lead-glazed interior. Maker's mark impressed at base. Relatively few John Bell bowls of this style are decorated and glazed on the exterior. Very nice condition with small rim chips and very minor surface wear to interior. H 2" ; Diam. 6 1/8".
