Small-Sized Redware Jug with Manganese Slash Decoration, possibly Eastern TN origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, thin strap handle, and tooling to shoulder and spout, the surface profusely-decorated with brushed manganese slashes under a clear lead glaze. This jug exhibits classic Great Road style decoration with an atypical form. Provenance: Purchased by the consignor at an antique show over a decade ago in VA. TN, or KY. Excellent condition with minor wear. H 6".
