Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jar with flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a four-petaled flower surrounded by diagonal foliate devices, flanked by two freehand 2's. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Excellent condition with a minor chip to interior of rim and a short surface line to top of rim. H 11 3/8".
