Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars with Kentucky Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, 1875, both of tapered form with "wax sealer" rims, one stenciled "G.A. McCARTHEY / BRO. / MAYSVILLE, / KY.," the other stenciled "J.A. McCARTHEY / & BRO. / MAYSVILLE. / KY." G.A. McCarthey jar with significant chipping to interior of rim, a small rim chip to reverse, and traces of green paint to shoulder area. J.A. McCarthey jar with a small chip to interior of rim and paint to surface, not affecting stenciling, which indicates possible restoration. H (of each) 8".
