Large-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "A. CONRAD / NEW / GENEVA / PA.," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring Alexander Conrad maker's stenciling including unusual dentile stenciling. Freehand stripe to shoulder and base. An in-the-firing salt drip to front. An approximately 2 1/2" shallow flake to bottom edge, which occurred in the firing. Some extremely minor wear to inner wax sealer rim. H 9 1/2".
