Two Half-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, both of similar form, one decorated with freehand stripes and the stenciled advertising, "C. BARTLEY & / 1835 Penn St Pittsb[]h," probably Boughner family, the other with freehand stripe decoration, stenciled "FROM / R. CUMMING / Cor Penn & 27TH Sts / PITTSBURGH." Shorter jar with sealed Y-shaped crack from rim on front. Taller jar in excellent condition with faintness to the word, "PITTSBURGH," and some staining. H (of shorter jar) 7 7/8".
