Rare Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "G. & .A Black," George and Albert Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, nicely-decorated around the midsection with six "deer hoof" motifs in the classic Black style. Excellent size, color, and condition. Few examples bearing this stamp are known. Excellent condition with a very minor flake to interior of rim. H 7 5/8".
