Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Dog Motif, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY. Co / PALATINE / W.VA," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a stenciled design of a standing dog, surrounded by Palatine Pottery Co. maker's stenciling. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some light staining. H 8 1/4".
