Rare Glazed Redware Jug, Stamped "J CAREY," Shippensburg, PA origin, mid 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with footed base, tooled spout, and ribbed strap handle, the surface covered in a blackish lead-and-manganese glaze. Underside impressed with "J CAREY" maker's mark. A few base chips. Wear to handle. Surface wear around midsection. H 8 1/2".
