Five-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Washington County, GA origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with applied strap handles and narrow opening, the surface covered in a mottled alkaline glaze mixed with Albany slip. Impressed "5" at shoulder. One handle restored. Two filled and partially-painted sections to rim, measuring 2 1/8" x 1/2" and 2 1/2" x 1 1/8". A 3/4" base chip. H 16 1/2".
