Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK JR / ATHENS / NY," mid 19th century, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a sweeping floral motif featuring a scallop-edged blossom and scrolled leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 5 1/2" crack on underside, extending 6 1/2" up side of crock. A 3 1/2" Y-shaped line to shoulder on reverse, not visible on interior. Water glass staining to interior and exterior. A 4" vertical surface line to reverse, not visible on interior. A minor in-the-firing ping to reverse.
