Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Letart Falls, OH Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "H.W. SAYRE. / GENERAL MERCHANDISE. / LETART FALLS. / OHIO." Midsection of crock with stylized floral stenciling. Letart Falls, a community established in 1826, is located in Meigs County, Ohio, fifteen miles from the county seat, Pomeroy. A thin Y-shaped crack on underside, which forms a T on right side of crock. Stenciling of "OHIO" is faint.
