Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Drape Decoration, attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. or Sr., Baltimore, MD or Philadelphia, PA, circa 1825-1835, thin-walled, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, decorated around the body with a dramatic, zig-zagging drape motif composed of numerous sort vertical and diagonal strokes. Heavy cobalt band to rim. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Desirable form and size with bold decoration. A restored 4 1/2" section to chipped area of foot. A restored 2" section to chipped area of foot. A few other minor base chips. A 3 3/4" x 1" restored section to right side of rim. A restored 1" x 3/4" flake to rim on reverse. Restoration to exterior of spout. A thin horizontal crack through handle. H 13 1/4".
