Outstanding Squat-Formed Stoneware Jar with Profuse Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, approximately one-gallon, cylindrical jar with footed base and squared rim, decorated around the body with a very large design of clovers and swags emanating from a sinuous stem. Exceptional form and decoration. A large inverted Y-shaped crack from rim. A 3/4" rim chip with a large Y-shaped crack descending from it. A few minor rim nicks. Two small chips along crack. H 8 1/2".
