Two Pieces of New York State Stoneware, circa 1840, a four-gallon, highly-ovoid jug with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "N. CLARK & CO / LYONS," paired with a four-gallon, highly-ovoid jar with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "THOMAS D CHOLLAR / CORTLAND." Jug with a network of tight lines to base area, primarily on reverse as well as some firing flaws, including two salt drips to reverse and contact marks. Jar is in restored condition with restoration paint over much of surface, including only a small amount of touch-up to cobalt at maker's mark.
