Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "ELIZ.TOWN-N.J", J.M. Pruden, Elizabethtown, NJ, circa 1832-1835, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a series of horizontal cobalt dashes. A filled 5/8" rim chip to reverse. A 1 1/8" filled chip to interior of rim and a smaller filled chip to interior shoulder area. Surface lines to underside and base area, not visible on interior.
