One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Bird Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1870, ovoid pail with tubular pouring spout, wood-and-wire bail handle, and applied clay handle at base on reverse, decorated on the front with a cobalt design of a spotted bird with ringed neck, standing atop a stylized ground. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some minor in-the-making chipping to base.
