Extremely Rare Glazed Redware Food Mold, Stamped "J. & T. HAIG," Philadelphia, PA origin, 19th century, circular, scallop-edges mold with sponged manganese decoration under a clear lead glaze. Impressed on top of rim with extremely rare "J. & T. HAIG" maker's mark. Underside impressed "10". While numerous molds of this style attributable to the Haigs are known, this is the first signed example that we have ever offered. A small chip to exterior of rim. Some edge and high point wear. Some staining. A relatively minor, 1 1/8" in-the-firing contact mark (flake) to underside. H 3 1/2" ; Diam. 9 1/4".
