Scarce Small-Sized Redware Jar, Stamped "Backer.," Anthony Weis Bacher, Winchester, VA, circa 1865-1882, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, the interior covered in a lead-and-manganese glaze. Underside impressed with Backer maker's mark. Three faint hairlines from rim, the longest measuring 3 1/4". Jar is out of round. H 4 1/8".
