Three-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO. N.Y.," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant based on Burger motifs from Rochester, NY. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small, in-the-firing iron ping to front and a small piece of adhered clay to underside. Lid with chips and a hairline.
