One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. A small base chip, a small spout chip, and some staining.
