Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Decoration, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va," circa 1850, ovoid jar with large extruded handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a large flowering vine. Impressed with Solomon Bell maker's mark, along with two-gallon capacity mark under one handle. Likely made shortly into the inception of Bell's well-known three-line maker's mark. One handle restored. Chipping to opposite handle. Restoration to underside. Rim chips. A salt drip to one side.
