Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Coggled Bird Decoration, attributed to Branch Green, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1820, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and footed base, decorated with a coggled bird-and-leaf motif around the shoulder, highlighted in cobalt slip. A tight 3" line from rim. A minor base chip and a minor in-the-firing ping to base. A minor in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder, typical of this potter's work. H 8".
