Rare Ten-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, Palatine, WV origin, circa 1875, large-sized, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and lug handles, decorated with a flowering undulating vine across the midsection. Shoulder with additional vine motif. Freehand stripe below rim and highlights to handle terminals. Shoulder with unusual coggled "10" capacity mark. Exceptional size. Wear to surface, primarily front of jar. Wear to rim. Chips to interior of rim. Two chips and wear to left handle. Some wear to right handle. H 19 1/2."
