Stoneware Handled Canning Jar with Cobalt Apple Decoration, Roseville, OH origin, circa 1875, cylindrical form with tall "wax sealer" rim and applied handle, decorated with a brushed design of an apple flanked by wavy stripes. A minor in-the-firing chip to underside at edge. A small in-the-firing bloated spot to side of jar. A chip to exterior of rim. Chipping to interior of rim. A minor in-the-firing contact mark to handle. H 11".
