Green-Glazed Redware Jug, New England origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, the lead-glazed surface featuring streaky greenish coloration over a red ground. Appealing color. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a recently-surfaced Northeastern U.S. collection assembled decades ago; ex-John Gordon Americana, NY, NY (Gordon sticker on underside). Several small, shallow flakes to spout. Handle with a few shallow chips along right edge, some additional light wear, and a horizontal hairline through handle. Shallow chipping to base. H 7 1/8".
