Fine Small-Sized Glazed Redware Jug, Bristol County, MA origin, late 18th or early 19th century, delicately-potted, ovoid jug with footed base and ribbed strap handle, the surface covered in a lead glaze featuring large streaks of manganese flowing from the spout area over a mottled orange ground. Excellent size and strong color. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a recently-surfaced New England collection assembled decades ago. A 5/8" x 1/4" reglued chip to side of spout. H 5 1/2".
