Rare Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Flying Eagle Decoration, Stamped "BULLARD & SCOTT / CAMBRIDGEPORT, MASS," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a flying eagle holding a banner in its beak. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Large area of amateur restoration to base, reverse, and underside, not affecting decoration. An 8" crack from rim on front with some minor filled spots.
