Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. Remmey or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated with two boldly-brushed tulips emanating from a stripe at base. Collar decorated on each side with brushed flowers. Spout decorated with swags flanking a vertical flower. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Strong decoration with excellent color. Three base chips. A small in-the-firing surface chip below right flower.
