Two Stoneware Jugs with Baltimore, MD Advertising, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, each of cylindrical form, a quart-sized jug, stamped "E.G. HIPSLEY.&CO / GROCERIES & LIQUORS. / NO. 414 N. GAY STREET / BALTIMORE," paired with a half-gallon jug, stamped "J.C. WHEELER / GROCERIES & LIQUORS. / 161 FOREST FOREST STREET / BALTIMORE." Both with cobalt highlights to advertising. Hipsley jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Wheeler jug with a few small spout chips, a few small base chips, and a minor in-the-firing ping at base. H (of Hipsley jug) 8".
