Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Newark, NJ Advertising, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed, split-stemmed floral motif, below the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "CAMP & OSBORN." Impressed above the cobalt-highlighted notation, "N 2," presumably for "Number 2" as in two gallons. Tight spider cracks to right side and reverse of jug. A 1 1/4" chip to side of spout. An adhered piece of clay to shoulder on left side of jug. Some staining.
