Shenandoah Valley Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG", VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid jar with narrow base and semi-rounded rim, the exterior surface dipped in an iron-flecked, cream-colored slip, the entire surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with S. Bell & Sons maker's mark at shoulder. Several rim chips. A 2" area of shallow exfoliation to right side of jar. Other minor, scattered exfoliation to body. H 6 3/8".
