Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "OHIO," OH origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed flowering plant design below the impressed mark, "OHIO." Maker's mark surrounded by elaborate impressed and cobalt-highlighted star designs. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent condition with a minor rim chip on reverse.
