Rare Rockingham-Glazed Octagonal Pitcher, Stamped "SWAN HILL / POTTERY / SOUTH AMBOY", NJ origin, circa 1850-1852, molded pitcher of eight-paneled form with upswept spout and ornamental handle, the surface covered in a streaky reddish-brown Rockingham glaze. Underside with Swan Hill Pottery maker's mark depicting a relief swan. Two minor chips to left side of spout. A small chip to left side of handle on front. A shallow chip to underside at edge. H 10 7/8".
