Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Marbled Manganese Splotch Decoration, probably Ohio, mid 19th century, cylindrical jar with footed base, rounded shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with marbled manganese slip over a whitish slip ground and covered in clear salt glaze. A striking decorative treatment. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. Two short, faint lines from rim, measuring 1 3/4" and 1". Minor wear to rim.
