Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt "Fishing Lure" Decoration, Ohio origin circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of flower blossom resembling a fishing lure, surrounded by spots and four figure-eight motifs. Shoulder decorated with a brushed "4" underscored by a flourish. A thin 4 3/4" crack from rim on reverse. A chip to one handle. Two minor base chips on front. A 1" flake to underside at edge.
