Large-Sized Stoneware Face Jug with Alkaline Glaze, Stamped "B.B. CRAIG / VALE, N.C.", early fourth quarter 20th century, ovoid jug with two applied open handles at the shoulder, the front decorated with an applied clay face with large eyebrows and pointed ears, bulging eyes, a Roman nose with pierced nostrils, and smiling mouth with china teeth. Incised details to eyebrows. Surface covered in a mottled green alkaline glaze with appealing glass runs and rutile throughout. Underside impressed with B.B. Craig maker's mark. Excellent size. Mint condition. H 19".
