Rare Domed Stoneware Lid with Profuse Cobalt Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1840, domed lid with tooled accents and circular knob, decorated with slip-trailed flower blossoms and a wavy spotted line surrounding the central knob. Additional spotted decoration surrounding the base of the knob, along with alternating spotted and wavy line decoration around the midsection and outer edge of the lid. Chips to flange on underside of lid. Diameter 9 3/4".
