Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON. N Y", circa 1870, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with striped breast and spotted wing, perched on a flowering plant. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Very nice condition with some wear and small chips to inner rim for lid. H 17 3/4".
